چکیده
Background and purpose — Literature describing long-term functional outcome osteoarthritis (OA) in adjacent joints after femoral lengthening is rare. We evaluated physical function the presence of radiographic OA 10 patients ? 27 years lengthening.Patients methods conducted a cross-sectional study treated by unilateral lengthening. Follow-up was between 34 years. Physical 30-second sit-to-stand (30sSTS) stair test compared with reference values. 4 single-legged hop tests were used to assess difference lengthened contralateral limb. Radiographic joint space width (JSW) Kellgren Lawrence (KL) classification. Results The scored worse values on 30sSTS test, limb single- triple-hop test. found hip or knee 3 based JSW KL. No unlengthened limbs.Interpretation Our results showed impaired both general Additionally, we possible association long term. However, sample size current small.

Femoral lengthening in achondroplasia: magnitude of lengthening in relation to patterns of callus, stiffness of adjacent joints and fracture.
Extensive limb lengthening may be indicated in achondroplastic patients who wish to achieve a height within the normal range for their population. However, increasing the magnitude of lengthening is associated with further complications particularly adjacent joint stiffness and fractures. We studied the relationship between the magnitude of femoral lengthening and callus pattern, adjacent joint...

Background: Modern knee designs have popularized its use in younger patients due to its better performance. There remains uncertainty whether higher demands of these patients can affect implant survivorship. Purpose: To assess whether modern knee designs have provided similar results in patients younger than 70 years versus older patients. Methods: We included 203 consecutive patients (236 ...
